American Made Rock and Roll

Welcome message from the webmaster:

Howdy. Well, what can I say about these guys? I guess first off, I am not a fan of country music. I grew up on a steady diet of so-cal punk and mid-western new wave. However, I believe that in terms of music, America only has two original forms:
Jazz and Country.
Me, being an American, embraced the former (special thanks to the Dead Kennedys intro in  'We've got a bigger problem now') but was skeptical of the latter . For me, Country music always had that 'live in the sticks' feel to it.
And I'm a city boy.

Enter Fourkiller Flats. When I first saw them, it was around New Years Eve 2000. I heard them play 'Cat Song' and I immediately thought that it was especially written for me. (of course, it was just my ego and the beer doing the thinking). 'Cat Song' struck me at my most vulnerable point.

That's the thing with the 'Flats. The music is simple and true and American. A lot like the punk bands I loved (and still do love) when I was a kid. I guess all I really have to say is that: these guys rock.

Will wonders ever cease?

Sincerely,
-one of the converted
